John,

Senate Republicans just filibustered the Freedom to Vote Act. Right after Republicans blocked the bill, Majority Leader Schumer said this:

“Republican obstruction is not a cause for throwing in the towel. What we saw from Republicans today is not how the Senate is supposed to work.”
Yesterday, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki said:

“If Republicans cannot come forward and stop standing in the way, if they can’t support strengthening, protecting the fundamental right to vote, then Democrats are going to have to determine an alternative path forward.”
These statements show that both President Biden and Senate Democrats are serious about getting voting rights protections passed.

Leader Schumer already announced that the Senate is voting on the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act as soon as next week. Senate Democrats have the option to not allow the minority party to block a bill as important as this.

Our next step is to show support to the necessary alternate path forwards with grassroots actions.

Can you help us protect voting rights by chipping in $25?

Thank you,
Vote From Home

P.S. The final vote was 51-49. Senator Schumer changed his vote to Nay for procedural reasons. This will allow the bill to be voted on again with potentially different filibuster rules.

Vote From Home is a grassroots movement that's fighting to expand vote-by-mail. We helped thousands of Democrats vote safely from home in Pennsylvania, Michigan, North Carolina and Georgia in 2020 and 2021. Now we're focused on stopping politicians and legislation who are making it harder for Americans to vote by mail.
