Team, Democracy deserves a debate. But today in the U.S. Senate, debate was silenced.

Opponents of the Freedom to Vote Act, a once-in-a-generation chance for reform of democracy, successfully cut off debate on the bill. They refused to even let senators discuss the proposal.

The Freedom to Vote Act would help rescue our democracy from those who want to hijack it. The legislation, co-authored by Senator Amy Klobuchar, would undo some of the harsh new voting laws inspired by disinformation about the 2020 election.

A pillar of democracy is having a healthy debate of our values but the opponents are silencing that option. Tell Senators that cutting off debate on democracy is unacceptable. Add your name now →

The Freedom to Vote Act would also

provide for automatic voter registration,

restore of voting rights for those who have left prison behind,

protect of election workers from intimidation

ban partisan gerrymandering

and combat secret money in politics.

There's a lot in the bill to discuss. And yet, opponents want to muzzle that discussion. That's wrong.

Tell Senators that cutting off debate on democracy is unacceptable. Let's have the debate - and then an up-or-down vote. Don't let them cancel the debate. Add your name now. [link removed]

Thanks,

Steve
