When Kim was 16 years old, she was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. Like millions of other diabetics, she relies on insulin every day to survive. But over the years, Kim's watched the cost of prescription drugs skyrocket as Big Pharma CEOs place their profits above people's wellbeing. Her insulin, which used to cost $40 a vial, has jumped to upwards of $300 with nothing to justify this price hike. And it's not just insulin -- hundreds of drugs have drastically increased in cost.
Kim Schrier

The fight to lower prescription drug costs is personal to Kim, John.

That's why Kim is working to lower the cost of prescription drugs because no one should have to choose between putting food on the table and paying for the medication they need.

In Congress, Kim has fought to keep pharmaceutical companies from raising prices faster than the rate of inflation, to bring cheaper generic drugs to market sooner, and to give Medicare the power to negotiate better prices for all of us. She'll keep fighting until every family can afford the medication they need, but she wants to know what you think.

Do you agree with Kim that Congress must take action to lower prescription drug costs now? Take our poll now >>

Thanks,

Team Schrier
