This week, she led a coalition of 24 attorneys general in support of the U.S. Department of Justice’s lawsuit against S.B. 8, which effectively ends all abortions in Texas and rewards bounty-hunting vigilantes who want to block abortion access.

We had a fleeting win last week when the district court temporarily blocked the ban, but that was quickly overturned by the appeals court. So, each day in Texas and across the country, patients, families and providers are continuing to face irreparable harm.

Maura and her colleagues see right through this scheme to overturn 50 years of binding precedent under Roe v. Wade. They won’t stop standing up for the rule of law and working to ensure that people get the care they need.

The Supreme Court has an obligation to defend legal precedent and stop this unconstitutional ban from inflicting further harm.
