Folks,

The uphill battle to protect one of our most sacred and fundamental rights, the right to vote, is far from over.

This week, the Senate is taking up the Freedom to Vote Act — critical voting rights legislation that will protect our elections from interference, dark money, partisan gerrymandering, and voter suppression. It will strengthen our democracy, promote racial justice and equity for all Americans, and thwart the assault on voting rights in the states.

To keep moving forward as a nation, we must ensure that every eligible American has the freedom to vote and that the results of our fair and free elections reflect the will of the people. But this year alone, lawmakers in 48 states have introduced laws restricting Americans’ freedom to vote — including Nevada.

After months of Republican obstruction, it’s time for the Senate to act and pass the Freedom to Vote Act this week. If you’re with me, add your name to my petition demanding Congress protect our constitutional right to vote >>

Without at least 10 Republican votes, this bill is likely to die in the Senate. We just can’t afford that, especially as more GOP-led state legislatures around the country are putting up new barriers to vote.

As the People’s Lawyer, I’m committed to combating voter suppression efforts. But I can’t fight this alone, and I need you with me.

For democracy to work for all of us, it must include us all — no matter our race, background, or zip code. Please add your voice to the chorus of Americans saying that enough is enough: we need voting rights legislation now:
