Mitch McConnell and his Republican allies at all levels of government have gone all-out in their assault on voting rights. Not only have more than 30 laws been enacted in 19 states making it harder for Americans to vote, but Mitch McConnell and Senate Republicans have been blocking federal legislation to support early voting, automatic voter registration, and other commonsense measures to ensure access to the ballot box.

And all the while, Mitch McConnell tries to distract with a false narrative that Democrats are creating “drama” by working to advance legislation to expand early voting and access to mail-in ballots.

Plainly, it’s B.S. It’s also why it’s important we set the record straight here in Pennsylvania, where election deniers are running for the GOP nomination for Senate, with Trump’s hand-picked candidate having led efforts to invalidate millions of Pennsylvanians' lawful mail-in votes. And Republicans across the state are pushing to subpoena voters’ personal information with no plan for how they’ll protect Pennsylvanians from identity theft and fraud. It’s ridiculous and alarming.

Now more than ever, we need a leader like Val to defend our right to vote in the U.S. Senate.
