I believe investing in education is the most important thing we can do as a state to build a stronger, more inclusive economy for all Rhode Islanders. That's why I'm proud to release my plan ([link removed]) to improve education for all Rhode Islanders.

The reality is Rhode Island's educational outcomes lag behind the rest of our region, and we must be prepared to take bold steps to make our education and training programs competitive. We can turn things around, but we need to invest in early childhood programming, improve K-12 schools, and make college and workforce training more affordable and accessible across the state now.

As Treasurer, I've made improving Rhode Island's education system one of my top priorities. I led the statewide school construction initiative which has invested over $1.4 billion in repairing or replacing 176 schools -- a majority of the school buildings in the state. And I've worked to overhaul our CollegeBoundSaver program into one of the highest-rated college savings programs in the country and expanded the program to include apprenticeships for those not going to college.

Rhode Island's students, workers, and families cannot wait for change, and that's why if I'm elected governor, I will continue to build on my track record and get to work to make the bold investments we need to build a brighter future for all.
