Deb Haaland promised to be a different kind of leader. Since day one, she has prioritized working closely with Indigenous groups and Tribal leaders, as well as activists and local communities to protect endangered places with natural, cultural, and sacred significance.

Secretary Haaland and President Biden just took a major step to fulfill these promises. Recently, after Secretary Haaland's review and recommendation ? including the influence of 2.7 million comments from activists like you ? President Biden restored protections for three sacred and majestic national monuments: Bears Ears, Grand Staircase-Escalante, and Northeast Canyon and Seamounts. Now, these special areas are once again off-limits for mining and to oil companies, and restored to their full pre-Trump protections.
