Latest News from ONDCP...

The Center for Disease Control just released its latest drug overdose death data which showed a record number of 99,106 predicted overdose deaths in the 12-month period ending in March 2021 – a 31 percent increase.

Behind these devastating numbers are families, friends, and community members who are grieving the loss of loved ones. The data are a reminder of how urgent it is for communities to implement substance use prevention education programs for all K-12 students.
D.A.R.E. is the largest and most comprehensive K-12 education program in the world taught in thousands of schools in America. The curricula teach students good decision-making skills to help them lead safe and healthy lives, and cope with drug abuse and the barrage of other high risk circumstances they face each day.
