One week ago, I announced that I’m running to be DC’s next mayor. When I did so, I made another critical announcement: I am running as DC’s first mayoral candidate to use the Fair Elections public campaign financing program. I am incredibly proud to be part of a movement to get money out of politics and to center everyday people.

But to get matching public funds, we need 1,000 contributions from DC residents. This is a big task, but I believe we can do it.

The beauty of matching funds is that even a small contribution is matched 5 to 1. This campaign will be fueled by grassroots contributions of $20, $10 or even $5. I’m asking you to chip in today to help us qualify for matching funds - no amount is too small: [link removed]
