Dear Friend,
Somewhere along the way, a curious thing happened: Our nation’s public schools became ideological battlegrounds.
Today, students in some public schools are being indoctrinated in the teachings of a radical and divisive view of the world called “critical theory.”
Critical theory teaches that injustice primarily comes from faulty power structures (government, church, and the family). These institutions are “oppressors” who attempt to crush the “oppressed.”
And critical theory cynically views inherent rights and freedoms—like religious freedom, free speech, and parental rights—as mere tools for the powerful to control the oppressed.
But that’s wrong. It’s our inherent rights and freedoms that protect those who could be oppressed from the government.
You’ve probably heard of one strand of critical theory: Critical Race Theory (CRT). CRT attempts to address racism by viewing all problems and all disparities through the lens of race.
But it doesn’t correct racism. It fosters more racism.
Racism is wrong. Every person is created in the image of God and deserving of equal treatment and respect.
The solution to racism isn’t more (or different) racism. People shouldn’t be judged by the color of their skin.
Right now, good teachers—including faithful Christians—are being forced to train children through the lens of Critical Race Theory, Critical Gender Theory, and other harmful worldviews.
Students, teachers, and staff who resist face threats of severe punishment.
This isn’t just happening in big-city schools. It’s not just in certain states. It’s all over the nation—perhaps even in your local school district.
And it’s a problem that should concern us all.
Will you take a stand?
Public schools shouldn’t be trying to mandate matters of worldview that should be reserved for the individual, the family, and the church.
Taxpayers shouldn’t be forced to pay for children to be indoctrinated. Not in CRT. Not in Critical Gender Theory. Not in anything that runs contrary to human dignity and the core tenets of our nation’s founding principles.
With the help of people like you, ADF will challenge this indoctrination in public schools.
But this is no small undertaking. And we need to immediately expand the ADF legal team to be fully equipped to advance these critical and challenging cases.
Without the support of people like you, this necessary expansion won’t be possible.
Your investment of $100 right now in the Freedom Fund will help ADF fight pivotal court battles like this and be there when your freedoms are threatened too.
Will you give today?
We must not throw away the Constitution and our founding principles in a misguided effort to address a very real problem our nation has been working to solve since its inception. We know that we have come far—and that we have far to go. And we can’t stop now, or we risk going backward.
We pray that you will join us in standing up for kids, for freedom, and for the future of America.
