Dear John,

A few days ago I told you about Kai*, who was trafficked by his aunt into child labor on Lake Volta in Ghana.

As I’m sure you can understand, testifying in court can be traumatic for survivors of trafficking and violence. But thanks to you, IJM teams are constantly working to educate local authorities on how to make this less intimidating. They’re also coaching the survivors themselves.

Because of resolute supporters like you, Kai says, “IJM people told me that when I’m in court I shouldn’t be looking into my auntie’s face or eyes. I shouldn’t keep eye contact with her. So she tried to look me in the eyes but I ignored her. … I wasn’t afraid.”

Kai’s testimony helped convict his abusers, preventing them from harming more children. And you helped make it possible. Will you join in again today to help more survivors reclaim their freedom and their lives?

Until all are free,
From the IJM Team
