"At least 85% of the world’s population has been affected by human-induced climate change, new study shows"

—The Washington Post, 10/11/21

John,

This isn’t theoretical and this isn’t up for debate, despite what some science deniers might like us to think. Climate change isn’t a future problem for another generation to address — its impact is here and we have to take steps urgently to tackle it head on.

Already, an estimated 85% of people worldwide have been impacted by climate change, including through unclean air and water, extreme temperatures and catastrophic weather events like Hurricane Ida, which recently devastated communities across Pennsylvania.

We have to act now. Taking bold action like investing in clean, renewable energy sources will help cut down on the effects of climate change — and create good-paying jobs at the same time.

We can’t keep kicking the can down the road, John — we have to act now to secure the best possible future for future generations. I’m calling on Congress to take bold action right now, before it’s too late. If you’re with me, add your name now.

The growing climate catastrophe is a crisis on many fronts. Storms have escalated in number and strength, causing damage to communities and businesses from north to south across the globe. This year alone, over 47,000 wildfires have burned in the United States. Our homes, our farms, our air are all at risk.

But there’s a lot of reason for hope. We can lead the way right here in Pennsylvania — from solar to new innovations like turning methane from dairy farming back into energy. Investing in developments like this can help us turn the tide against the climate crisis and help support our communities with good paying, union jobs.

Our kids are counting on us to take action right now to combat climate change and protect our communities. Add your name to call on Congress to take action >> [link removed]

Thanks,

Val
