That means it's crunch time, John. And, as Robert Reich wrote to you last week, the key strategic objective that we need to accomplish is to educate voters on what's actually in the bill, since the mainstream media has been preoccupied by the cost of the bill and political gamesmanship.

Dear MoveOn member,

There is big news since Robert Reich sent MoveOn members a strategy memo last week on what we need to make happen in order to pass President Joe Biden's transformative Build Back Better plan—which, as you know, taxes the ultra-rich to pay for game-changing policies for families, seniors, and the planet.

With so much on the line—lowering the cost of prescription drugs, expanding Medicare, truly tackling climate change, and much more—we wanted to update you right away with the news.

The Associated Press reported yesterday that the White House has just told Capitol Hill that "it is time to wrap up negotiations, that a deal needs to be reached" and is now aiming to nail down a deal by October 28—just over one week from now.1

That means it's crunch time, John. And, as Robert Reich wrote to you last week, the key strategic objective that we need to accomplish is to educate voters on what's actually in the bill, since the mainstream media has been preoccupied by the cost of the bill and political gamesmanship. Since most people don't know what's actually in the bill, it's been it easy for Joe Manchin, Kyrsten Sinema, and the Republicans to attack it.

But failing to help families and seniors and save the planet in order to preserve tax breaks for Jeff Bezos? That's wildly unpopular—and to win, we need to make sure everyone knows that's really what's at stake.

That's why MoveOn just launched a big new public education push including ads on radio and the internet, viral videos on social media, and big, visible public protests to make sure people know what's in this bill. But with the White House wanting to reach a deal by October 28, we urgently need to go much bigger than we had planned over the next 10 days.

Will you rush a $3 donation now to make that possible?

Yes, I'll donate.

Breaking through the media noise isn't easy, so this campaign needs to be well resourced. But we can win if we can get our message out, because the investments included in this bill are hugely popular.

Here's what we stand to lose if we can't pass the bill:

All of these programs poll through the roof with voters, even in red states like West Virginia.2 So why are Joe Manchin, Kyrsten Sinema, and the Republicans trying to kill them? In order to protect tax breaks for ultra-wealthy people like Jeff Bezos and Mark Zuckerberg.

Don't take it from us. Take it from Robert Reich, who wrote last week, "We can win this fight. We must win this fight. But we can't wait for the mainstream media to educate the public about what's at stake. It's up to us."

Let's do this, John. Please, rush a $3 donation now to our special last-chance push to ensure the public knows what's in the bill.

Thanks for all you do.
