Earlier this year, Ayanna led the historic effort to secure the
elimination of the racist, discriminatory Hyde amendment from the House
budget — and she succeeded. Now, the Senate just unveiled a spending bill
without Hyde for the first time since the 1970s.

For decades, the Hyde amendment has denied access to abortion care for
folx who receive healthcare through Medicaid — a burden that falls
disproportionately on people of color, immigrants, transgender and gender
non-conforming people.

The Hyde amendment’s days are numbered, and our movement to make abortion
care accessible to all is gaining powerful momentum.

But Republicans and conservatives are pushing back, and we’re facing
additional attacks on reproductive rights in several states.
