John, With
the Third Special Session adjourning last night I wanted to send a final update on the redistricting process.
The Texas Legislature has passed all of their Constitutionally required maps for the US Congress, Texas Senate,
Texas House and State Board of Education, meaning a Fourth Special Session will not be required. Before the ink was even dry on the paper the Mexican
American legal Defense and Educational Fund filed a lawsuit claiming all 4 maps dilute Latino voting strength.
Overall, the maps are favorable to Republicans and after a vigorous campaign season we look forward to
expanding our majority both in Austin and in DC. You can view the US
Congressional map here. This map includes the 2 new
seats allocated to Texas in redistricting, one in Austin and the other in Houston.
The Texas State Senate map can be viewed here. It is projected to add at least 1 new Republican
Senator. The Texas House map is here, it projects at least 1 new Republican seat.
However it also puts many other Republican seats into play. Time will tell how friendly this map will be to Republicans.
The State Board of Education, which over sees all Texas public schools has their map here. This map also expands the Republican majority
on the SBOE. Sincerely,
Matt Rinaldi Chairman, Republican Party of Texas
P.S. Redistricting looks favorable but we still have a rough fight ahead of us. The Democrats will be ready to
fight tooth and nail to win any races they possibly can. Will you donate $10 or more to help us win in
2022?
