Jews have been subjected to violent attacks from time immemorial, before and since these bombings. But this brutal mass murder underscored the inescapable truth that the hydra of hatred knows no boundaries. Terror may first manifest itself against the Jews, but it never ends there... WJC welcomes Argentina’s designation of Hezbollah as terrorist organization
“The Argentine government has taken a long-awaited and principled step today in the international fight against global terror by including Hezbollah on its list of terrorist entities,” WJC President Ronald S. Lauder said. “For more than 35 years, Hezbollah has terrorized the globe, under the long arm of its patron Iran, and yet continues to be granted immunity and impunity by several nations and international organizations."

Verdict regarding Sarah Halimi’s murder: Unsurprising, but unjustifiable | By CRIF President Francis Kalifat
For us, this ruling [of acquittal] does not come as a surprise. From the beginning of this case, we have witnessed the parties involve procrastinate in their attempt to present the murderer as having acted in insanity. And yet, the staging of the murder and the suspect’s personality indicate that Sarah Halimi was in fact another victim of Islamist terrorism. This was an antisemitic crime. As the only Jew in her building, she was chosen as a scapegoat.

The murder of a young Jewish human rights activist in Georgia
In September 2018, a young Jewish man was killed in the center of Tbilisi, Georgia by a group of neo-Nazis. Now the court has ruled that the murder of Vitali Safarov was not a hate-motivated crime. His family and friends continue to fight for justice. May his memory be a blessing.

25 years ago, 85 innocent people lost their lives to terrorism. Their families and all of Argentine society continue to suffer. This is the message for us all: When one group is attacked, we are all attacked. World leaders including German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Argentine President Mauricio Macri, and US President Donald Trump have joined in messages of solidarity to commemorate.
