Iowa’s Governor should be focused on IOWA, not playing politics like this, especially with things as important as our immigration reform.

With remaining damage from the derecho, economic challenges, and a continuing pandemic, Iowans need their Governor to focus on IOWA.

Exploiting a humanitarian crisis at the border doesn’t help Americans.

While Gov. Reynolds was on the Texas/Mexico border, Deidre was in Iowa listening to Iowan’s concerns about the rise in homelessness, our workers shortage, mental health care accessibility, and the dire need for affordable housing. Every conversation focused on putting Iowans first.

This border visit did not put Iowans first.

Our community is strong and has all the resources and potential to thrive, but we need a Governor who is ready to put Iowa resources back into Iowa -- and Democrat Deidre DeJear is ready to do that.
