With the Federal Election Commission's third-quarter filing behind us, we have a clearer sense of what we're up against in the midterms.
Spoiler alert: It's not good. At all.
According to the New York Times, the National Republican Congressional Committee began this year with roughly $8 million less than House Democrats but entered October with $2 million more.
That's bad. Really bad.We cannot allow the GOP to have a fundraising lead that lets them trumpet more lies in what is sure to be the most contentious midterm election of the century.
Right now, we're dedicating all our time and resources (including your contributions) to craft persuasive, powerful ad campaigns – ones that will get the truth out to voters and call out lying House Republicans.
And we're going to need them because the GOP is ramping up malicious attacks on Democrats like never before.
The Common Sense Leadership Fund, a new Republican-aligned nonprofit group, just launched a $10 million ad campaign targeting 14 vulnerable House Democrats.
And then there's the American Action Network, aligned with House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy. They plan to run ads on digital platforms, broadcast and cable television across 24 House districts held by Democratic incumbents. And they have huge fundraising numbers powering their efforts to take down Democrats with lies and half-truths.
And remember, Republicans only need to flip four Democratic seats to take over the House. We can't let their lies go unchallenged.
