Dear John,

As you likely know, I’m pretty active on social media — especially on Twitter.

I get a lot of mean (like, really mean) responses to my tweets. You can read those on your own time.

But I did take the time to respond to some of the most interesting arguments against my tweets.

I truly appreciate those of you who engage with our tweets with some real thought.

It’s my hope that we can use these platforms to have a substantive dialogue about what’s happening in our economy and our democracy — and how we can create a fairer America.

And to those of you with the less thoughtful responses, I encourage you to take a deep breath and go get some fresh air.
