When Governor Ducey announced his plan last month to block mask mandates in schools, it was clear he was choosing political gain over the safety of our children.

Last week, he doubled down. He's now withholding federal COVID-19 relief funds from schools requiring masks in order to keep our children safe, which is against the letter of the law.

We should be doing everything possible to keep Arizona students safe, not steal money from them.

In August, I wrote a letter to Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen asking her to take action against Ducey. If he wants to play around with relief funds for his own gain, then the Treasury Department must take action. I'm doubling down on that call to action now, and I'm hoping you'll join me.
