John,

When I first announced I was running for governor more than four years ago, my message was the same as it was the day I took office: There is nothing Minnesotans can't accomplish when we stand together and meet our challenges head-on.

Through every test we've faced over the past two years, I'm grateful to say you proved me right.

When COVID-19 first hit, Lt. Governor Flanagan and I asked Minnesotans to come together to make a goal-line stand against the virus. And you did. The work isn't over, but thanks to your commitment to keeping our communities safe, we are on the path to emerging from this crisis stronger than ever before.

Facing one of the only divided legislatures in the country, we worked together to make historic investments in education, support working families, and provide relief to small businesses so they can continue driving our economic recovery.

We took action on climate change by making Minnesota a clean car state – giving people more choices at the dealership, creating good-paying jobs, and protecting our environment for future generations.

I couldn't be more proud of the strides we've made. But in Minnesota, we know better than to let up before the job is done. That's why, today, we’re officially announcing that we’re running for a second term.

Will you stand with me and Lt. Governor Flanagan and become a Founding Donor to our re-election campaign? We need 2,500 people to contribute over the next seven days to prove out of the gate that we are fired up and ready to win this race.

Donald Trump might be gone, but his allies remain committed to picking up the mantle of his divisive politics.

The same Republicans who forced out my commissioners for political sport during the height of the pandemic, relentlessly spread dangerous misinformation about COVID-19 and vaccines, and tried to undermine our emergency response at every turn want to take us backwards.

John, we can’t let that happen. We've come way too far to turn the ball over to a Republican Party whose leaders have proven themselves incapable of putting the health, safety, and economic security of our state ahead of their own political interests.

If we're going to stay on the path to recovery and continue making the investments we need to provide an unparalleled quality of life for every Minnesotan in every zip code, we can't give in to those who are trying to divide us.

Once again, it's time for us to rise and meet our challenges as One Minnesota. If you're with us, pitch in and become a Founding Donor of our re-election campaign today so we can continue working together to build a brighter future for our state.

Thank you,

Tim Walz
