The Republican attacks on our democracy are not stopping anytime soon.
Friend,
It’s Michigan AG Dana Nessel here — last week at a rally outside the Michigan State Capitol, the Trump-endorsed Republican candidate for Michigan Attorney General riled up the crowd with a speech about “election integrity” as the crowd chanted, “Lock her up.”
That angry crowd was referring to me, and threatening the work I do to safeguard our right to vote.
Let’s be clear: these extremists aren’t just coming after me. They are coming after our democracy, and anyone who doesn’t support Donald Trump.
Simply put, if we didn’t have Democratic Attorneys General in critical, battleground states, we would no longer have a democracy in the United States of America.
When it comes to securing the right to vote, swing state Democratic AGs can make all the difference.
Without our fearless Dem AGs standing strong in states like Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and Nevada, the 2020 election could have gone very differently.
In Michigan, we’re still fighting to hold the pro-Trump extremists that attempted to steal our election accountable for their actions.
But we have to be clear: Trump’s threat to overturn the will of millions of American voters was fueled by Republican AGs. And that threat is not going away, unless we defeat them at the ballot box.
Thanks for joining me in this fight and I’m excited to hear about your continued support.
Dana
