Donald Trump is feeling the heat, friend.

He just announced that he is suing Rep. Bennie Thompson and the January 6th Committee in an attempt to keep his presidential records, and any evidence of his involvement in the insurrection, sealed. And in response to a report that Colin Powell viewed the insurrection as an attempt to “overthrow the government”, Trump released a characteristically despicable, self aggrandizing statement in response to his death.

Frivolous lawsuits and headline worthy insults are all part of Trump’s standard playbook to hijack the newscycle. But he can’t distract us from today’s main event: At 7:30 ET, the January 6th Committee will be voting to formally hold Bannon in contempt of Congress and take the first big step in getting justice for January 6th.
