We told President Biden we’d be back.
The Senate is due to vote on the Freedom to Vote Act tomorrow, but with the filibuster still in place, it has very little chance of being able to overcome the Republicans’ blockade. That’s exactly why we’ll be demonstrating at the White House TODAY to demand that President Biden use his bully pulpit to urge Senate Democrats to fix or nix the filibuster right away.
This time, I’ll be joined by People For board members Alyssa Milano, Rabbi David Saperstein, Rev. Tim McDonald along with other clergy, civil rights leaders, and activists who know exactly how critical it is that President Biden heed our calls.
I’ll be risking arrest again today – with stakes this high, I’m willing to put everything on the line for voting rights. We need President Biden to act now to protect our freedom to vote for generations to come.
