URGENT: Ask peers to vote against assisted suicide bill
Dear Supporter,
Many thanks to everyone who has written to Peers speaking in the Meacher assisted suicide bill this Friday. We have had some great feedback.
However, we have now learnt that the pro-assisted suicide lobby plan to force a vote on the Bill. This means we need to get as many peers as possible to vote against the Bill.
Please contact Peers (not just those speaking) and ask them to vote against assisted suicide.
How do I write to Peers?
You can find the full list of Peers and their contact details here ([link removed]) , or you may wish to use the “find a random Lord” feature on the WriteToThem website ([link removed]) . Please note that bulk emails to members are not accepted by Parliament. If more than six copies of the same email are received, all will be deleted.
Sharing any personal stories you have, such as family members you feel would be under threat if assisted suicide is legalised, is very powerful.
This letter ([link removed]) , by SPUC supporter Felicity Smart, is a very moving and effective example. You might like to include some of the points in your letters from this briefing ([link removed]) , ‘Key points on assisted suicide’.
You might also want to forward to Peers the 2 minute video below, which illustrates how assisted suicide would put disabled and vulnerable people in real danger.
Many thanks for campaigning with us to protect the vulnerable.

With my very best wishes,
Alithea Williams
