Hey friend, it’s Adam Schiff. My friend Abby asked me to reach out because this moment is critical: Donald Trump just rallied with and endorsed Abby’s opponent, Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA). I want to be respectful of your time, so I’ll cut right to the chase – we need Abby Finkenauer in the U.S. Senate.

Over the past few years, we’ve learned that our democracy is fragile. In the aftermath of Donald Trump and his Big Lie, it’s more important now than ever to protect it. We need champions for our democracy in the Senate – and with Abby Finkenauer, Iowans would gain a true public servant in the U.S. Senate. I saw firsthand just how hard she fought for Iowa's working families and our democracy during her time in Congress. And in the U.S. Senate, she’ll continue that fight.

Abby’s Senate campaign is gaining momentum, and she needs to make a big statement before her next big fundraising deadline. I'm personally asking: Will you split a donation between our campaigns right now? We must elect Abby to the Senate and hold on to our Democratic majorities in Congress.

When I served with Abby in the House, I knew from the very start she was there for the right reasons: To do the hard work. The critical work. The kind of work that makes a difference.

It may not earn headlines – but it improves the lives of the people we represent. It has become rarer and rarer to see these days, but for Abby, public service is personal. She was raised in a working-class family. The fight is in her blood. And she would do anything and everything to better the lives of her community.

As for the current Iowa Senator, Chuck Grassley, it’s a different story. He's held this seat in the Senate for more than 40 years. And showing up for Iowa's working families seems to be a thing of his past. He's actively working against affordable health care and empowering unions – the sort of things that would improve the lives of so many in Iowa and across the country. Worse still, he's helped propagate Donald Trump's lies and encouraged dangerous voter suppression laws, and he has done Mitch McConnell’s bidding for much of his career.

Our best hope for a better Iowa, and for a Democratic Senate, is Abby Finkenauer. But it won’t be easy. Mitch McConnell doesn’t want to lose Grassley. His super PACs have nearly limitless resources to keep this seat red. And their work to take down Abby has already begun. That's why I need you to make a critical donation right now.
