John,

Meet Derek Felton, our Community Organizer here at the Coalition Against Hunger! Derek runs our Victory In Partnership (VIP) and Food Rescue programs. As he mentions, these programs help support Philadelphia area food pantries and soup kitchens by connecting them to many different resources, including opportunities for fundraising, grants, peer networking and more. Last year we were able to connect 41 different programs with over $81,000 in funding, and this doesn't include the money they were able to raise from our annual Race Against Hunger. We were also able to help coordinate 224,917 lbs. of food for our VIP members to distribute to over 8,000 households and over 23,000 people.

Running a food pantry or soup kitchen is hard work, but it is a critical part to ending food insecurity and eliminating hunger. That's why our VIP and Food Rescue programs are such an important part of the work we do at the Coalition Against Hunger. We want to make sure food pantries and soup kitchens all around Philadelphia know that they are not in this work alone. We are here to help and support!

Please make sure we can continue to support food pantries and soup kitchens, by making a donation today!
