Democrats need 50 votes to eliminate the filibuster. And today, we simply don’t have the votes.
That means Mitch McConnell and Senate Republicans have a free pass to block progress on everything we care most about—from voting rights to climate change to reproductive freedoms.
So here’s our path forward: We must EXPAND our Senate majority by electing Democrats to the Senate who support getting rid of the filibuster.
That starts with Val Demings (Florida) and Tim Ryan (Ohio). [[link removed]]
Val Demings and Tim Ryan both support eliminating the filibuster—because they understand that too much is at stake to allow the GOP to stonewall progress at every turn.
They also have what it takes to win: CNN just listed Florida and Ohio among the ten Senate seats most likely to flip in 2022.
But in order for them to win their tight races against well-funded Republican opponents, they'll need support from each and every one of us.
If you support getting rid of the filibuster, the most important thing you can do—right now—is donate to Val Demings and Tim Ryan. It is absolutely critical that we flip Florida and Ohio blue to expand our Senate majority. [[link removed]]
This is about so much more than partisan politics. It’s about voting rights. Our democracy. The future of our planet. We have to take action now.
Thanks for stepping up.
