Dear friends,
We believe that having the resources to age well is a matter of dignity, of equity, and of justice. That's why we're reaching out to you, ensuring you know about an important tool for creating and preserving your legacy.
This week (October 18-24) is National Estate Planning Awareness Week, and we invite you to create legally-binding estate plans—for free—through our trusted partners at FreeWill.com: [link removed]
You may think you don't need an estate plan, but remember:
- No matter what assets you own, having an estate plan is essential to protecting those you love.
- Regardless of your age, an estate plan is a statement of growth as it expresses care and responsibility for the people, communities, and causes you care about.
- Your will covers all of your assets. There are certain assets called non-probate assets that are not covered in your will. These assets include an IRA and a 401(k). An estate plan allows you to plan your beneficiaries for these assets.

If you don't have an up-to-date plan, we invite you to use FreeWill because, like us, they're a trusted nonprofit whose goal is to help others. In fact, they've already helped more than 350,000 people across the country create their estate plans and prepare for the future.
Big change starts at the individual level. An estate plan is a good place to start. We hope you take a small amount of time to exercise your agency over the important health, safety, and financial decisions in your future, while protecting all the people, possessions, and causes you love.
Thank you for joining us in our mission to improve the lives of 40 million older adults in our country.
Sincerely,
The NCOA Team
