Our southern border is out of control. We are expected to apprehend over 1 million illegal immigrants this year alone. This would not have been the case had President Biden not halted construction of the border wall or reversed other policies Trump implemented. I spoke about this on America’s Newsroom this morning. Biden recently decided he will reinstate President Trump’s successful “Remain in Mexico” policy, which stemmed the flow of illegal immigration until Biden lifted it. While this is good, this policy change will not take effect until November. Texas cannot afford to wait until then. We need to secure our border NOW.

The results of Biden’s open border policies are nothing short of disastrous. His weak leadership is being noticed and taken advantage of worldwide. Mexican cartels have fired shots at our National Guard, yet Biden still refuses to secure our border.

I recently saw reports indicating 16,000 illegal immigrants who tested positive for COVID were released into the US. This does not include the thousands of untested illegal immigrants who were also released.

Meanwhile, under Biden’s leadership, employees who decide not to take the vaccine are losing their jobs. Does that make any sense to you?

Biden’s open border policies created this crisis, and it’s only getting worse. It is a threat to our country when Biden and the Democrats refuse to secure our border. Their dereliction of duty will not prevent Texans from doing everything possible to protect and defend our Nation.

This year alone, Texas has invested $3 billion to do the federal government’s job and secure our border. We will continue doing everything we can to protect the people of Texas and ensure their safety.
