john,
The California Labor Federation is proud to be an Organizational Partner of the 2021 Latina Equal Pay Day & Essential Women Workers Virtual Summit! Did you know, on October 21, the day when the average Latina woman’s pay finally catches up to that of the average non-Hispanic white man from the previous year? We're excited to have you join us at the Summit on October 21, 2021 to learn more about ending the wage gap and how we can build worker power together!
On October 21, women and gender expansive workers in low-paid sectors, parents, advocacy partners, unions, and policymakers will convene to build worker power and share strategies to improve our nation’s labor and care structures. We have a great lineup of speakers, including Dolores Huerta and other civil rights leaders, U.S. DOL Women's Bureau Director Wendy Chun-Hoon, White House Gender Policy Council Co-Chair Julissa Reynosso and other leaders within the Biden Administration, National Domestic Workers Alliance Executive Director Ai-Jen Poo, elected officials, and incredible worker and parent activists who are leading the fight for change in our workplaces and communities
The Summit takes place on Latina Equal Pay Day — the day when the average Latina woman’s pay finally catches up to that of the average non-Hispanic white man from the previous year — and will feature a dedicated Latina Equal Pay Day segment. The Summit will also feature Latinas and other women of color who are fighting for change in their workplaces and communities to challenge pay exploitation and other systemic inequities ripe for radical change, including inadequate workplace health and safety laws, harassment and violence, and a lack of paid family leave and childcare.
Be a part of the conversation and join the effort to advance these important policies by registering for free here: https://bit.ly/WeAreEssentialSummit. Do you know someone who'd like to join you in attending this virtual summit? Forward them this email!
We hope to see you at the 2021 Latina Equal Pay Day & Essential Women Workers Virtual Summit!
In solidarity,
California Labor Federation
