A few days ago, I announced our October grassroots goal of raising $725,000.
But this isn’t going to be your typical fundraising drive. This deadline falls on Halloween, and I’m feeling festive. So let’s have some fun with this.
As a way of saying thanks, I’m going to (mildly) embarrass myself since we took a big step closer to our goal. This morning, we crossed $145,000 in donations, putting us 20 percent of the way toward our goal. And I’m a man of my word, so let’s kick this drive off with a quick video just for you -- check it out and chip in today to keep this going (once you’re done cringing).
Some folks on staff find this whole endeavor pretty frightening. But from the start, this team has shown that we’re not afraid to have fun. And everyone around here knows I’m not afraid to put myself out there, and maybe make a bit of a fool of myself all in the name of good fun.
The truth is this monthly fundraising goal is as important as it gets. In 100 days, caucus-goers in Iowa will weigh in. For an underdog team like ours, we can’t afford to miss a single goal from here on out.
