The piece describes former Acting Assistant Attorney General Jeffrey Clark’s shocking attempt to misuse the authority of the Department of Justice, as documented in a scathing new report by the Senate Judiciary Committee. Clark is the target of LDAD's most recent ethics complaint with the D.C. Bar’s Office of Disciplinary Counsel. At issue is Mr. Clark's exhortations in late 2020 to engage the DOJ in the false assertion that the presidential election results were tainted by fraud.

Our complaint against Mr. Clark is the fourth formal grievance LDAD has filed with Bar disciplinary authorities. By pursuing these ethics complaints against Mr. Giuliani, former Attorney General Barr, Texas Attorney General Paxton, and now, former Assistant Attorney General Clark, we seek to ensure that those who violated their oath to uphold the constitution are held responsible for behaviors that endanger our democracy.
As a supporter of ours, we hope you take pride in the work we are doing to protect the rule of law and to engage the public in ensuring that lawyers and elected officials always act with truth and integrity.
However, our ongoing work is not guaranteed. We require financial contributions to continue building the capacity of our organization and to take the actions needed to protect our democracy at a time when it is under significant attack.
For this reason, we ask you humbly for a contribution in any amount. As always, we thank you for your support and attention.
Sincerely,
Scott Hhbarger
