Hi John,

Election day is just two weeks away and the urgent need for action to prevent gun violence is as clear as ever. 45,000 people were killed by guns in the United States last year—more than 120 people every day.

The deadly surge in gun violence is not just happening in big cities, it’s impacting communities in every corner of the country. We cannot afford to wait to address this deadly public health crisis. We must elect gun responsibility champions this November.

Local elections are critically important in the fight against gun violence. Local leaders are responsible for overseeing law enforcement, investing in violence intervention work, implementing existing laws, and more. That’s why these upcoming elections are so important. We need leaders at every level of government who understand that it is their responsibility to make gun violence prevention a priority.

Today, join us in pledging to vote for gun responsibility. Here’s what you can do:

  • Confirm you’re registered to vote! Go to: https://www.vote.org/am-i-registered-to-vote/
  • Do your homework. Visit candidates' websites, attend forums, and review progressive voter guides for your area to see where the candidates stand on gun violence prevention.
  • Show that you’re a Gun Responsibility Voter with this Facebook Frame! Go to your Facebook page, click the camera icon on your profile picture - > “edit profile picture” - > “add frame” - > then search “gun responsibility”

Happy voting!
