[link removed] [[link removed]]Dear John,
Here at MCV, we have been laser-focused on a once-in-a-generation federal bill that could transform our economy and our climate: President Biden's Build Back Better Act.
In addition to proposals that improve the health of our communities through increased access to health care, expansion of Medicaid, Medicare, and child care and tax credits, this landmark legislation invests in transformational change that will cut planet-warming pollution in half by 2030 and help protect our communities from future devastation . The Build Back Better Act would advance energy efficiency and clean transportation, bolster our green energy economy, phase out subsidies for fossil fuels, address long standing environmental injustices, and create good-paying, union jobs.
This could be our last, best chance to ensure the federal government passes meaningful — and actionable — climate legislation for a very long time, so we're doing everything we possibly can to keep up the pressure before it's too late.
Here's just a sample of the work we've been doing over the last few months to educate Mainers and keep up the pressure to ensure our lawmakers support this critical bill:

We need to make sure Maine's Second District Congressman Jared Golden supports this bill. If you live in the second district, will you take one minute to call his office and ask him to vote for the Build Back Better Act to protect our climate future?
Here are the phone numbers for his three offices and a sample script:
Congressman Jared Golden
Bangor: (207) 249-7400
Caribou: (207) 429-6009
Lewiston: (207) 241-6767
Hello, my name is [ Your Name ]. I am a constituent of Congressman Golden and live in [ Town ]. I am calling about President Biden's Build Back Better Act. We need to act on climate now. Will Congressman Golden support the Build Back Better Act to protect our climate future?
Thank you for taking action!
Kathleen
