Help us stop them

While the January 6th Commission let The 147 know they mean business last week by opening contempt proceedings into Steve Bannon, Marjorie Taylor Greene took a break from filing frivolous articles of impeachment in Congress to float a bold new idea she has for the USA: a “National Divorce.”

Greene subsequently described the “national divorce” as a “civil legal process,” which is false. Not only does no such legal process exist, it would be unconstitutional if it did.

But coming from a member of The 147, this isn’t just a ridiculous idea, it’s a dangerous one. We don’t need to tell you that this is a veiled call for Civil War. Marjorie’s already got one coup attempt under her belt already, that much is obvious. But this isn’t just another attempt to deflect and deny like when The 147 claim that the insurrection was a peaceful tourist visit or even an attempt to avoid getting kicked off Twitter again.

By inventing a mundane euphemism that’s acceptable in polite company Marjorie is normalizing Civil War. She’s just putting an option on the table. We’ve all thought it, right? It’s the exact same tactic Steve Bannon used to fold his white supremacist ideology and allies into the mainstream of the Trump administration. Remember when all of the white supremacists in Trump’s base rebranded as the “alt-right” so they could follow him to Washington? We spent months debating about what is and what isn’t a Muslim ban while Nazis marched in our streets.

Marjorie Taylor Greene and The 147 think that this divisive civil war incitement is a form of patriotism. But in America our strength comes from coming together as one, e pluribus unum. Sign our petition to show MTG that we reject her calls for a civil war, and that we stand together as one.

Real patriotism means unity. Thanks for standing united with us.
