Dr. Sarah Kimball
For her steadfast dedication to refugee and immigrant rights, social justice, and the holistic health of immigrant and refugee families.

Dr. Sarah Kimball, Director of the Immigrant & Refugee Health Center at Boston Medical Center has been a great partner and friend to Rian Immigrant Center. It is an honor to recognize her leadership in improving healthcare access for immigrants and refugees, and her authentic and valuable collaboration with our center. We deeply respect her creativity, wisdom and tenacity in working toward a world where health outcomes do not depend on immigration status.

José Nieto
For his incredible resilience, despite daunting personal, legal and systemic obstacles, in reuniting his family in the United States and his tireless pursuit of providing them a safe, stable life full of opportunity.

Like many immigrants, Mr. Nieto’s family overcame many obstacles to be together. While fighting cancer, he worked tirelessly alongside Rian attorney Jackie Kelley and social workers Siobhan Kelly and Victoria DiCianni to reunite with his family in the United States. Today, his family is by Jose’s side as he continues his cancer treatment.
