These come after a teenager opened fire on classmates at a high school in Arlington, Texas. We can't keep living like this. It's time to take action to stop senseless school shootings.

Now that our children are returning to in person learning, and we’re returning to school shootings. And they are happening more frequently than before. Our children shouldn't have to fear being gunned down at school and parents shouldn't have to fear for their child's life when they leave the house.

My two young kids are back in school – and they’ve already done active shooter drills. I don’t want my kids to be scared at school, and I don’t want to worry about their lives while they’re there. Please, we have to change things.

Will you send an emergency petition to Congress right now and plead for them to pass gun safety legislation? Urgent solutions like universal background checks and an assault weapons ban will save lives. We can’t be apathetic in the face of our children’s lives at risk. We must act now and help protect them.
