John,
We're reaching out one more time on behalf of Andrew Joseph's family, the 14-year-old boy who lost his life due to the negligence of the Tampa police over 7 years ago.
We see cases like Andrew's all too often. Police not being held accountable for their deadly actions is detrimental to our society and that's why it's beyond time to end qualified immunity.
Qualified immunity has enabled law enforcement to escape liability of misconduct for decades and it's time to end it for once and for all. Police are not above the law and they should be held accountable for their actions just like anyone else would.
The deputies responsible for Andrew's death need to be held accountable for their actions. Sign on to the petition to show your support for Andrew's family and the fight to end qualified immunity. >>
In love and solidarity,

Subject: Join us in the fight to end qualified immunity
It's been 7 years and 8 months exactly since Andrew Joseph III, a 14-year-old Black teen, died due to the negligence of Tampa police.
7 years and 8 months and no one has been held accountable for Andrew's death, and his family still has no answers.
The reason for this is the continued unjust legal claim of "qualified immunity." It has stalled, dragged out, and attempted to block Andrew's family from receiving what they've long deserved.
It's time for Andrew's family to finally get some answers. Later this month, Andrew's family will be turning into court the names of everyone who has signed our petition. Will your name be among them, fam?
Fam, police must be held accountable for their actions -- they cannot continue to hide behind the guise of qualified immunity. Join the over 24,000 people who've already signed on by adding your name to the petition >>
Cases like Andrew's happen far too often. Black families across the country are having to take the fight for accountability into their own hands.
This fight has been an uphill battle for Andrew's family. From their wrongful death suit being denied to being rejected from speaking with the United States Attorney General -- they've been through it all.
We demand that the deputies and system that stole Andrew's life be held accountable. We demand the end to every vestige of white supremacy embedded in the criminal legal system and beyond, beginning with the end to qualified immunity.
Fam, will you join us in showing your support for Andrew and his family by signing the petition before they turn it into the court? It's time to break this vicious cycle and demand our federal government put an immediate end to qualified immunity NOW >>
In love and solidarity,
