Image Description: Screengrab of our two emcees, Joshua and Basit, against a frame of SPARK color-spray pattern. Between them is an ASL interpreter, mid-sign. Joshua has long wavy black hair and brown skin, and is sitting in front of a glass window overlooking office buildings. Basit has short blonde hair, brown skin, red lipstick, and is sitting against a pink wall with a blue guitar hanging behind them. Both of them have big smiles.
What a night! Thank you to all who tuned in to SPARK last Thursday from across the country. SPARK was a time to celebrate the joy in our communities, and recommit to our collective work to build justice. If you weren't able to join us, or you want to experience the power of SPARK again, you can watch on Youtube here.
A million thanks to everyone who made SPARK a success: Joshua Allen and Basit Shittu for emceeing our evening, and to Chico Chi for our official SPARK 2021 playlist (you can listen to the mix on Spotify or Mixcloud). A special thanks to Laverne Cox, Jonathan Van Ness, ALOK, and trans leaders from across the country that shared space with us virtually. We are grateful to our wonderful Host Committee, all our generous sponsors, our dedicated Board of Directors, and our staff for going above and beyond.
With your incredible support, we surpassed our goal and raised $225,234! If you wanted to give but didn't get a chance yet, or are moved to give again, read on!
- DONATE: If you didn't have a chance to donate at SPARK or want to give more, you can still donate online!
- SPREAD THE WORD: Who have you talked to about TLC? Who have you talked to about SPARK? Ask them to reach out to us and join the community.
- MATCHING FUNDS: If you have already given, make sure that you're fully leveraging that gift by checking with your employer if they will match your donation.
Thanks to you, and everyone, who made SPARK so special!
