[[link removed]] John,
Increasingly destructive coastal storms, devastating droughts and last February’s catastrophic winter storm and power outage have brought the reality of climate change home to millions of Texans -- even as the governor and other elected officials deny the overwhelming scientific evidence. Now we need your help to ensure that new public school science standards teach Texas students the truth about this global crisis.
Click below to tell Texas State Board of Education members that new science curriculum standards they will vote on in November must clearly and accurately address climate change.

The SBOE has been overhauling the state’s science standards for two years. We have made progress on improving the standards for high school courses, but the fossil fuel industry has been pushing back. It’s important that SBOE members hear from everyday Texans, not just powerful special interests trying to increase their profits at the expense of our health and safety.
Texas was one of six states that earned an F last year on a national report card [[link removed]] from TFN and the National Center for Science Education that examined how state science standards address climate change. The SBOE’s vote in November represents the best opportunity in a decade to improve climate change science education.
Tell the SBOE today to #TeachTheTruth on climate change in Texas public schools. [[link removed]]
