Dear Colleague,

A sustainable future depends on whether cities can transform. Is there a path to cities that are more equal, more prosperous and low carbon? We say yes.

I am proud to invite you to join me virtually with global and local leaders to launch Seven Transformations for More Equitable and Sustainable Cities, the culmination of our World Resources Report: Towards a More Equal City research effort.

As the world looks to recover from COVID-19 and accommodate the more than 2.5 billion people that will be added to cities by 2050, our research shows that highly unequal access to infrastructure and services is reducing productivity, causing poor health, inflicting environmental damage and locking people into poverty.

We present solutions for cities around the world with specific actions for national and city governments, the private sector, development finance institutions and civil society actors. We explore a new vision for a successful city centered around peoples’ lived experience.

I hope you can join me online tomorrow for this important conversation on how to make better cities – and a better world.
