No new nuclear arms race – conference on Sunday!
Join us this Sunday as we host two expert panels of international speakers to discuss the global impact of the UK’s illegal nuclear arsenal increase and the prospects for Britain and the UN nuclear ban.
We are faced with one of the most perilous moments in recent times. The Doomsday Clock stands at just 100 seconds to midnight, the UK government is increasing the size of its nuclear arsenal, the AUKUS military pact will spread dangerous nuclear material to Australia, and the new Cold War against China puts the whole world on the brink.
It couldn’t be more important for us to stand together, so please join us via Zoom on Sunday, 24 October.
From 11am we’ll dig into the global impact of the UK’s illegal nuclear arsenal increase with Professor Paul Rogers from the UK, Vijay Prashad of the Tricontinental Institute, Colonel Ann Wright of Veterans for Peace in the US and arms expert Ruth Rohde from Germany.
In the afternoon from 1.45pm we’ll look at Britain and the TPNW, assessing the legacy of Britain’s nuclear tests and what it must do to sign up to the UN nuclear ban, with nuclear-free Pacific campaigner Talei Luscia Mangioni, veteran peace activist Rebecca Johnson and Alan Owen of test survivors’ group Labrats.
Register now for CND’s No New Nuclear Arms Race conference.
Together we have the power to turn the world in a more peaceful direction!
