Republican AGs have been at the forefront of spreading the Big Lie, while Dem AGs have fought for every legally cast ballot to count. Learn more:
BREAKING NEWS FROM THE WASHINGTON POST
Over the weekend, the Washington Post reported that an arm of the Republican Attorneys General Association received a check from a pro-Trump donor to help organize the pre-insurrection rally on January 6th.
That check was written and processed to help pay for the robocalls that the non-profit policy arm of RAGA made to bring pro-Trump and pro-Big Lie extremists to DC, who launched a deadly attack on our Capitol hours after the rally.
The check amount: $150,000.
Friend, this falls in line with everything that Republican AGs stand for. They would rather take a six-figure check to gain political power and support Trump’s Big Lie than protect the democracy that they swore to defend.
It’s not the only thing GOP AGs have done to try and subvert our democracy.
Before the January 6th insurrection on our Capitol, Republican AGs filed a frivolous lawsuit in an attempt to throw out legally cast votes in battleground states and overturn the 2020 election results. The lawsuit was swiftly rejected by the U.S. Supreme Court.
During January 6th’s pre-insurrection rally, indicted Texas Republican AG Ken Paxton spoke at the rally after constantly promoting it on his own social media accounts.
And now, Republican AGs aren’t just refusing to take accountability in their actions on January 6th, but they’re actively making the problem worse. Multiple Republican AGs are defending their states’ voter suppression laws that will increasingly disenfranchise communities of color.
The next year will be critical to continue making progress in our communities, and we need your help to defeat the elected officials who are stopping us.
