Traffic Management Trainees+

We are always on the look-out for enthusiastic people; from?trainees?carving their first steps within the sector, to highly experienced and?qualified traffic management professionals.

About you:

  • Able to carry out heavy lifting duties as required,
  • full driving licence, is desirable but not essential, (will accept if waiting for a test)?
  • you will be keen to gain a broad understanding of traffic management operations
  • construction or traffic management experience desirable
  • you are a quick to learn
  • you have a flexible, hands on approach
  • Willing to undertake NRSWA and Lantra qualifications
  • An induction and training with be provided

General hours of work are 40 hours a week and shifts are variable. The working week runs Saturday to Friday and you normally get your shift pattern the week prior. Overtime is not guaranteed, however, you may be required to work overtime as necessary.??

Climber/Steel Erector - Subcontractor

Candidates will be working along side a team of Climber/Steel Erectors, fixing together steel structures. Candidates will be working from heights and will need to be confident in doing this safely & effectively.?Candidates must have impeccable punctuality.

What is needed:

  • CSCS card (although if currently out of work this can be arranged)
  • MUST be confident with working at heights
  • Must have a reasonable level of fitness.
  • Must be Reliable

What is preferred:

  • Any working at heights training qualifications
  • IPAF
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Own transport.?

Due to the working at heights the employer will subject its employees to random?drug and alcohol?testing.

Labourer?(Kickstart)

Through the Kickstart programme D J Swallow will aim to develop you through on the job experience and training, you will gain experience on working on a busy site. You will be expected to get involved in excavations, supporting health and safety as well as sustainability initiatives.

Day to day you will be mentored and closely supervised to support your personal and professional development.

You will be supporting many of the different tradesmen on site, providing you with a chance to learn a variety of skills.

Candidates will need to hold GCSE (or equivalent) grades 4 (C) or above in English Language and Maths.

Traffic Management operative (Kickstart)?

You will join a team installing, maintaining and removing temporary traffic management measures, including cones, signs, frames and sandbags on low speed roads in and around the community.? Supported by operatives and foreman you will be expected to comply with company policies, with priority given to Health, & Safety issues.

About you:

  • Able to carry out heavy lifting duties as required,
  • Ability to drive is desirable (non- drivers may be eligible for training throught he DWP's Kickstart scheme)
  • you will be keen to gain a broad understanding of traffic management operations
  • construction or traffic management experience desirable
  • you are a quick to learn
  • you have a flexible, hands on approach
  • Willing to undertake NRSWA and Lantra qualifications
  • An induction and training with be provided
  • non drivers

Administration Assistant (Kickstart)

Are you an administrator with a hands on approach to work, this could be the opportunity for you to work within a large, well established and growing Civil Engineering Company.

Duties to include:

  • Assisting the Quantity Surveyor in collating records and uploading to reports
  • Assisting the Logistics co-ordinator in ordering plant (excavators, rollers and dumper equipment) and materials. To assist in the implementation of lean logistics (ensuring materials and equipment are on site when required) including just in time replenishment (ensuring you do not have too much stock or are out of stock of materials when required for site).

Essential skills:

  • Experience in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Must be able to communicate clearly and concisely in writing and over the telephone
  • Must have previous office experience
  • Must have attention to detail
