2021 Voter Guide

The Atlanta DSA 2021 municipal voter guide is here! This guide was written by the Electoral Committee to address the Atlanta mayoral and city council elections. Authors approached writing this guide with socialist values and a progressive, pragmatic lens. We see this as an opportunity to share information with fellow Atlanta DSA members, Atlanta voters, and other community members about the central questions shaping Atlanta politics.

UAW Workers On Strike at John Deere in McDonough

Striketober continues as over 10,000 UAW union members have gone on strike against John Deere, including those in our backyard in McDonough, GA. The company has rejected a proposed wage raise after a record-breaking year in which they made over $5 billion in profits.

Our newest branch, South Metro, is collecting contact info for ATLDSA members who are interested in supporting the strike by bringing food and supplies or standing on the picket line.

If you're in the area and interested in helping, please fill out the form linked below.

Wednesday, October 20th: Tenant Power Organizing 🏠

October 20 at 5:30pm Online. atldsa.org/tenant-organizing . Housing For All Tenant Power Training.

The purpose of this training is to educate tenants of their rights and motivate them to understand the power that we all possess through organizing, effective planning, and political education. This training will offer insight on the laws governing the city of Atlanta centered around housing, changes we are facing within our city with increasing homeless rates, and inaccessible government funding. We will also review how to fight landlord evictions and access resources and how to organize and get into the tenants’ power movement. If you are interested in learning more ways to get involved and raise awareness for these pressing issues, this training is for you.

Our mission is to create safe, healthy, and affordable housing for all. Housing is for people not land developers that earn a profit. People create homes not the buildings themselves.

This workshop will be held online. Please RSVP to receive a Zoom link in your email.
