Quick question, John: Do you think North Carolina’s public school teachers deserve a raise?

YES [[link removed]]

NO [[link removed]]

Our state’s teachers haven’t had a raise since 2018 , and after all the struggles of the last year and a half — adapting to distance learning, figuring out how to conduct in-person classes safely — we believe they more than deserve one now.

Roy knows firsthand just what it takes to be a public school teacher — growing up, his mom was a public school teacher in Nash County, and she instilled in him a lifelong respect for the lengths teachers go to give our kids the best possible start.

Now, he is fighting to make sure public school teachers get fair compensation that recognizes how hard they’ve had to work to make sure students continue receiving the quality education they deserve, even amidst a pandemic.

That’s why including a raise for teachers was a priority in his proposed budget — one that Republican leadership hasn’t yet gotten behind.

So we want to hear from you: Do YOU believe that NC teachers deserve a raise this year?

NO [[link removed]]
