India Walton won the Democratic nomination for Mayor of Buffalo in June by more than 1,000 votes in one of the most widely-noted election results of the 2021 election cycle.

She is set to make history by becoming the first Black woman mayor of the city and is bringing all generations together to build a community that is strong and vibrant for all, making Buffalo a national leader in the struggle for affordable housing, police reform, economic equity, and racial justice.

Nina Turner

Nina Turner grew up in a working-class family in Cleveland's Lee-Harvard community, experiencing firsthand the impact of income inequality and socioeconomic barriers. She made history as the first African American woman to represent Ward 1 on the Cleveland City Council, and again when she became the first African American woman to serve as State Senator in Ohio's 25th District. Nina then went on to serve as Chair of Party Engagement for the Ohio Democratic Party.

Nina has a long track record of protecting reproductive justice, supporting labor rights, championing criminal justice reform, and spearheading the way toward a more equitable and inclusive Ohio. 

She's building a movement to empower working families and mobilize Democrats on key progressive issues that impact everyday Americans who have been left behind.
