John, I'm excited to share the latest from CRC with you:
- How much will China profit from the bipartisan infrastructure bill?
If it passes Congress, the $1.2 trillion infrastructure bill would allocate $148 billion to climate- and energy-related priorities. That's music to the Chinese Communist Party's ears. Chinese companies currently manufacture close to 30 percent of the world's wind turbines and a whopping 71 percent of all solar panels in the world. CRC's Hayden Ludwig counts the renminbi here.
- What's the Left preaching in children's books?
The Left has (d)evolved far beyond the 1970s message of gender equality and tolerance found in Marlo Thomas's 1972 book Free to Be You and Me. The current slate of leftist children's books in public school libraries touts left-wing buzzwords of diversity, democracy, feminism, LGBTQ pride, gender-neutral pronouns, labor rights, and "antiracism." I discuss some of the worst offenders here.
- How far does the ACORN fall from the tree?
Living United for Change in Arizona (LUCHA), an Arizona activist group, recently made headlines when its activists filmed Sen. Kristen Sinema (D-AZ) in a bathroom as they harassed her for opposing the Biden administration's $3.5 trillion reconciliation bill. CRC's Parker Thayer follows the LUCHA trail from its origins in scandal-plagued ACORN to its current connections to the Center for Popular Democracy, which famously harassed Sen. Jeff Flake during Brett Kavanaugh's SCOTUS confirmation hearings. See here.
- Who's sending partially handwritten letters to Virginia voters?
Virginia's election is less than a month away, and many view it as foreshadowing the 2022 midterm elections. Accordingly, Vote Forward is trying its best to churn out Democratic votes to influence the outcome of Virginia's election. Vote Forward presents itself as a grassroots organization, but it is actually a product of the professional Left. Hayden Ludwig exposes its leftist roots and funding here.

InfluenceWatch Podcast 190
In this episode: The Ford Foundation--one of the country's largest private foundations, created by an arch-capitalist--has long been the financial backbone of the radical Left. Now some propose taking radical action to counter its influence. J.D. Vance, Republican candidate for U.S. Senate in Ohio, spitballed on Tucker Carlson’s Fox News show: "Why don’t we seize the assets of the Ford Foundation, tax their assets, and give it to the people who’ve had their lives destroyed by the radical open borders agenda?"
Joining us to discuss what to do about the Ford Foundation and other problems of Big Philanthropy is my colleague Mike Hartmann, director of Capital Research Center's Center for Strategic Giving and co-editor of Philanthropy Daily's Giving Review blog.
